Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) is forced to say goodbye to all your friends when they decide to make the Museum of Natural Sciences more "interactive" and replaced all the figures for holograms. His friends are packaged and shipped historical archives to the Smithsonian in Washington, DC, the largest museum in the world. Not even 24 hours have passed when Larry gets a call from Jedediah, the cowboy thumbnails, and discover that Ahkmenrah table has been lost and this has led the Smithsonian to life. To save his friends, Larry will have to travel to Washington, DC and fight Kahmunrah, Al Capone, Ivan the Terrible and Napoleon, who had masterminded a plot to take over the museum, and then the world.
